In the wee hours of a cold, January day in 2011, I was at home staring at my computer, trying to find the motivation to make work travel arrangements to Chicago. After eight years of constant travel for my job, I had reached a point where I just wanted to be home. Locally, there were no job openings in my profession, so, what to do? My husband, at the time, had dabbled in real estate – it looked like fun. I had watched plenty of HGTV – I could show 3 houses, have a buyer pick one, and close the next day – right? So why not switch careers? Seriously, how hard could it really be to be a real estate agent?
All I can say is – Wow, how naive was I? But, I made the transition with tenacity, read tons of books, attend every learning opportunity possible, have been mentored by local industry legends, earned several designations/certifications/awards, participate on Kanawha Valley Board of REALTORS® committees and BOD, serve on WV Association of REALTORS® committees and teach a few real estate topics. I wish I had jumped into this career a LOT earlier in life!
My two grand-joys, my animals, traveling, and playing around with photography, are my passions in life. I run, (thanks to Matt Young of Genesis Running), and I volunteer for several organizations, the main one being The Fix ‘Em Clinic (an area low cost, spay, neuter, wellness clinic).
I look forward to working with you in the future!
